Do I need any special hardware?

P1142 Chery: engine load signal lower than expected

The Chery engine control module sets P1142 when the calculated or measured engine load drops below the calibrated range. Typical triggers are unmetered air entering the intake, a contaminated mass air flow sensor or a boost problem. The car usually stays driveable, but power delivery and fuel economy can suffer.
